Dr. Richard J. White to lead the new Outpatient Services in Libertae’s Wellness & Recovery Center

“I am excited and feel incredibly fortunate to work with such a committed group of people who are so passionate about helping women recover from the disease of addiction. Watching these small miracles on a daily basis is inspiring.”
–Dr. Richard J. White

In a recent Intelligencer article, Carol Gifford, spokeswoman for the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), states that the new Libertae Wellness & Recovery Center is the first Pennsylvania outpatient program she has heard about that provides clients with free child care and transportation. DDAP licenses substance abuse treatment centers and programs.

Richard J. White, PhD joined Libertae this past summer, as both clinical supervisor and therapist for the Wellness & Recovery Center. Previously, he had been the Director of Outpatient Services for Seabrook House in Bridgeton, NJ, and also provided direct clinical care at both the inpatient and outpatient levels of care. Dr. White has also worked with many diverse clinical populations and settings, from in-home family therapy and school-based interventions, to assertive community and mental health treatment in the corrections system, to clinical settings such as hospitals and university-based counseling centers. He received his doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Virginia Tech in 2005.

Dr. White is also Assistant Professor (Adjunct) at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA, where he has been with the Psychology Department for over the past decade.

Stephanie Fudge began working at Libertae in March 2017 as a therapist for the Wellness & Recovery Center. Stephanie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Penn State University and Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marywood University in early 2016.

During graduate school, Stephanie gained clinical experience by working with a diverse group of adolescents and adults in both a mental health and drug & alcohol setting. She became a Nationally Certified Counselor in 2016, and is now working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania which is set to happen in 2018. Stephanie enjoys practicing a person-centered approach with her clients while incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy techniques in individual and group sessions. She is a dynamic therapist who remains genuine with her clients to maintain a healthy and honest relationship with them.
